When a customer hires our company, they are in many ways telling us that they trust us with the task at hand. We realize that a lot of our customers don't want to get into the nitty gritty of why we do certain things - that's why they hired a professional! With that being said, it pains us when a customer doesn't follow our instructions during the floor installation process. Many times, not following our instructions can lead to a delay. We want to do our job as professionally as possible, so please read along to see how you can make that happen. We like to fill the customer in with as much relevant information as possible so that they feel like they know what's going on. Open communication allows for the best possible results to be achieved.
"We are only trying to help when we ask to keep the rooms at a reasonably warm temperature."
A larger portion of hardwood floor refinishing involves waiting for things to dry. Stains and finishes can range in their drying times, but luckily there are some very basic things we can do to help speed that process up. Keeping an interior warm is by far the most efficient way to get a floor to dry as quickly as possible. This cuts our costs down and it ensures that a floor can be finished as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, we've run into a few situations in which we returned to the job sight after letting the floors dry overnight only to find the home incredibly cool. We are only trying to help when we ask to keep the rooms at a reasonably warm temperature. If a floor is not dry upon our return, we have to leave and come back another day. These delays can add up over time and force us to affect the service which give to our other customers.
Thankfully this next request has never been violated, but we are constantly vigilant. The finish used on a floor can have chemicals that can be harmful to a human being if exposed to for a long period of time. We wear gas masks during this phase and take it incredibly seriously. Pets are smaller than human beings and are therefore more susceptible to being adversely affected by these fumes. We make our customers make sure no pets are present in a home while floor finish is going down.
"We call ourselves professionals because we genuinely have more experience doing hardwood floors than any customer we come in contact with."
We call ourselves professionals because we genuinely have more experience doing hardwood floors than any customer we come in contact with. There are a lot of variables than go into every job, and its our job to make decisions straightforward for our customer. We have only the customer's best interest in mind when we make requests and suggestions. Our business does well when someone is so happy with their floors that they tell their friends. Word of mouth is a powerful thing, so we do our best to ensure people are happy. Getting jobs done in a timely fashion is what allows us to be sustainable so please, listen to your floor man.
